NEA Foundation, is a non-profit organisation that values the involvement of the public and believes in the contribution which individuals and corporate sponsors can make towards change.
NEA is a Swahili word for “purpose, to prepare the way, to set in motion, to be a starting block”.
We want to be able to move and be in places where the need as well as the potential for change is really big. We want to get involved with the people in the community to start projects required in their specific community and then equip them to take responsibility for their own projects and lives. Our aim as a Non-Profit orgnisation is to prove to them they don’t have to depend on us to do everything, our role is to support them in their dream and purpose, and to encourage them to be what they were meant to be!!!

The Domingo’s of Fordsburg was the first ‘black’ racers that broke through the apartheid sanctions and eventually went on to race Formula 1. Both in South Africa and abroad.
Yesterday I had the privilege of meeting and photographing Rory Byrne at Ferrari Viglietti in Bryanston, South Africa.
Rory Byrne is most famous for being the chief designer at the Benetton and Scuderia Ferrari Formula One teams.
Amazingly, 99 of his cars have won Grand Prix.

Fanie de Villiers, writing as Kleinboer, has written a new Afrikaans book, Werfsonde. I was commissioned to take a portrait of him and decided on these pictures.
He stays in Yeoville, that’s why we were in the streets of Yeoville. Yeoville is a predominantly black area and he is of the few white people who still live there.
The images are dark and surreal because he writes about brothels and having sex with black prostitutes.
I used of camera flash with a softbox attached, to the left.
Dragged my shutter to create the blurring of street and car lights.
Used second curtain flash to freeze my subject when and where I wanted to.

Riaan Cruywagen will no longer be reading the Afrikaans news on our tv’s.
After being in the houses of many people for 37 years and more that 7000 news bulletins, Riaan, aged 67, will finally be doing his last news bulletin tonight on SABC2.
A gentle soul and giant in SA’s television news history.
*Couple of images I shot in his living room
Since High School I’ve wanted to see Linkin Park live! Luckily with a job like mine, I got to shoot them AND see them live.
It’s very difficult shooting such a big band as it’s next to impossible to get a decent shot with all the band members in one frame. Lighting was also difficult as I would think it’s difficult for lighting engineers to light a lot of people equally.
A lot of movement from Chester as well as Mike.
Anyway, here are couple of my shots.
Went to Goldfields mine close to Carletonville yesterday. Miners were striking for a better wage.
